About this plant

The Areca Palm (Dypsis lutescens), also loved as the Golden Cane or Butterfly Palm, is one of the most popular indoor and patio palms — clumping golden-green canes topped with soft, feathery, arching fronds that bring an instant tropical feel to a lounge, veranda or bright corner. It is easy and rewarding: give it bright, indirect light, keep the soil lightly moist (never soggy), and mist through Lahore's dry months, as it enjoys a little humidity. Best of all, the Areca is non-toxic and safe around cats, dogs and children — a worry-free choice for family homes. Just shelter it from hard frost and harsh midday sun.
