About this plant

Croton 'Gold Dust' (Codiaeum variegatum) is a bright, cheerful foliage plant, instantly known by its deep green leaves speckled with bold golden-yellow spots — like flecks of gold dust scattered across every leaf. It adds warm colour to patios, doorways, bright balconies and well-lit indoor corners. Give it plenty of bright, indirect light — a little gentle morning sun deepens the gold, but harsh afternoon sun can scorch the leaves. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, keeping it lightly moist but never soggy, and mist occasionally in dry weather, as it enjoys some humidity. It loves warmth and dislikes cold, so shield it from frost and cold drafts through the Lahore winter. One caution: the milky sap can irritate skin and the leaves should not be eaten, so keep it away from young children and pets.
