About this plant
Syngonium podophyllum 'White Butterfly' is the pale, luminous cousin of the classic arrowhead plant — its soft arrow-shaped leaves are almost creamy-white in the centre, edged and veined in gentle green, for a light and airy look that brightens any indoor corner. It stays compact and bushy while young, then can be left to climb or trail as it matures. Grow it in bright, indirect light (four to six hours a day) to keep the pale variegation strong — too much direct sun scorches the leaves, while too little fades them. Let the top inch or two of soil dry before watering, and it enjoys a little extra humidity. One caution: the sap can irritate skin and mouth and is toxic to pets and children if chewed, so keep it out of reach.
